Hugo Steemers

Dr. Hugo Steemers is Senior Director of Business Development at Ricoh Innovations, joining the company in 2011. His past positions include vice president of business development at Pixel Qi, a developer of sunlight-readable liquid crystal displays for mobile devices, and senior director of business development and strategic marketing at Marvell and National Semiconductor. Dr. Steemers’ additional experience includes working as director of product development and strategic marketing at Silicon Image, where he focused on the DVI and HDMI technologies. He was also senior engineering manager at National Semiconductor for the LCOS light valve program, and has held a number of engineering positions in Xerox PARC’s display program.

Dr. Steemers is a past program and general chair of the Society for Information Display. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in semiconductor physics from Imperial College, University of London, England, and both a Master of Science and PhD in semiconductor physics from the University of Dundee, Scotland.

Hugo’s interests includes cycling, snowboarding, and consuming pale ale and Peet’s coffee. But not at the same time.
