Job: Research Scientist in Connected Object Technologies

Position Description:
Ricoh Innovations seeks a researcher in the diverse area of connected object technologies, loosely defined to include cloud analytics, the Internet of Things, computational RFID, indoor location, and smart phone data analysis and recognition. We are looking for individuals with experience in any of these fields who would like to firm up and define their own projects in these areas, adapt their research to the real world, and make a significant impact on a well established company. The topics suggested above are just some of our ideas about where this work could go. Both new Ph.D. graduates and experienced researchers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
• Developing new algorithms with clearly identified novelty
• Working with others to refine and modify your project ideas
• Producing computational models and simulations that validate your approach
• Developing prototype systems in software and hardware as appropriate, based on the project as well as your background

Qualifications / Skills Required:
• PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Proven creativity and ability to generate your own research projects
• Track record of publications and strong recommendations about your skills as a researcher with a desire to create new technology
• Programming experience with one or more mobile platforms is a plus
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
